but for now, double-click on MinimServerfire (where in your case, fire will be. On this forum you can ask questions, reports bugs. ![]() MINIMSERVER FIRE STICK ANDROIDOn further reflection I think I shall set up a server on NAS (php &mysql) and then I can get my own library but if anybody has other suggestions please let me know. I recommend sticking to the Raspberry Pi 2 as described in Part 1. Hi-Fi Cast is an Android app for playing music from UPnP/DLNA media servers to Chromecast & UPnP devices. I am trying to avoid the built-in "intelligence" of the high end server offerings which try and sort my classical music tracks according to their own logic. I play videos on TVs, some not smart so on them I use Firestick or similar with VLC. I used to use Twonky because it came with Qnap NAS but I somehow have lost it even though the free version came with the NAS (some years ago!). System: ALAC iTunes library on Synology DS412+ (running MinimServer) > Airport Extreme bridge > Optical isolation > dCS Network Bridge (controlled by Galaxy Tab S2 tablet running BubbleUPnP&Mosaic) > PS Audio DirectStream DAC > Primare A60 > Harbeth SHL5plus 40th Anniversary model I'd guess QNAP have a similar set of apps to stream video if you dig a little deeper. MINIMSERVER FIRE STICK 720PWorks very well with 720p video but will need a more powerful processor to stream 1040p video. MINIMSERVER FIRE STICK TVWith a Synology NAS I use their 'Video Station' app running on the NAS, pointing to video folders on the NAS, and use our not-very-smart TV with an Apple TV running the Synology app 'DS Video'. But no, it was like listening to 16bit/44. I thought Roon would be of similar sound quality to BubbleUPnP at least. I would appreciate some pointers on what options to look at meanwhile. My normal playback is via BubbleUPnP/MinimServer from NAS to exaSound Sigma streamer e38 DAC or alternatively HQPlayer from NAS to Sigma/e38, the HQPlayer usually gives better sound quality but BubbleUPnP has a better control interface. Is there a mimimserver for video in the pipeline. Much needed.(10-10-2020 17:53)Budgie Wrote: Please forgive my OT post but is there an equivalent to minimserver2 for video which I can mount on my NAS. MINIMSERVER FIRE STICK SOFTWAREWhy don't the Linn head office guys fire their software developers and pouch some of the Sonos app developers instead. Now, I think a square mini PC, such as leelbox q1 plus, seems good for this purpose. In the 5 years I've had this Sonos stuff I've never had an issue, but in two weeks of Linn, it is a bloody nightmare. So, I started to look for an Android mini PC. There are tons of quality channels for viewing for News, Entertainment, Reality, Crime, Kids, and much more. ![]() It provides access to 100+ free live tv channels and has over 50 million global users monthly. I also have Sonos Play 5's in two other rooms, kitchen and bedroom, just for background music where quality is not important, and it never misses a beat, app is great, sees my NAS every time without fail. Pluto is likely the most popular free choice to view live TV on Firestick or any other device you prefer. Is there any alternative to the garbage Linn call Kazoo, or can I get Kinsky? If not, this hardware is going to have to go back to the shop and I'll be getting NAIM instead. I've looked on Linn site for Kinsky download but as they stopped developing it they've removed it, can't get it on Apple app store either. Somebody told me they found the same issue when they moved to Kazoo from Kinsky, but as Kazoo was so crap they went back to Kinsky. As for the same app on my iPhone, it takes an age to load up and when it does, 80 per cent of the time it does not see my NAS drive so I only have TuneIn radio. It does not work on my iMac, just says 'Waiting for Majik DS.' and spins forever. Just bought a Linn Majik DSM and have Kazoo on both my iPhone and my iMac and the software is pants, at best. ![]()
